· Semi-formal tickets will be on sale until tomorrow in the office during 8th Grade recess time.

· Attention 7th graders: There will be a Car Wash/Bake Sale on Saturday, June 12th from 10-2 at the Bangor Savings Bank to help raise money for your trip to Quebec. Please see Mrs. Knight if you can help.

· We will be having an Honor Roll Assembly today during study hall.

· The Sports Banquet will be held tonight from 5:30 – 7:30.

· Attention 7th and 8th graders –Are you interested in learning about potential careers in health care? Sign up for the Summer Scrub Club, a summer program held at Franklin Memorial Hospital. It only costs $50 for the whole week to attend and transportation from Dirigo High School is provided. To find out more pick up a brochure in the office or check out the posting in the Student Lounge.

Students:
· 8th Graders please remember to bring in your passports or birth certificates and the fluorescent orange Consent Letter that was handed out recently as soon as possible.

· MEA testing will be taking place today for all 8th graders.

· The Drama club will be performing the play “Dear Edwina” tonight at 6:30 in the cafeteria. The cost is $5.00 for adults, $3 for students 13 and over, and $2.00 for Senior Citizens and children under 12. Come support your classmates and see a great show!

After School News:
· Rollerskating at the Rec Center for the next two Tuesdays, so come out and enjoy the last opportunities to skate free with friends.

· On Friday May 21st the After School Program is proud to sponsor Boating and Water Safety with the Maine State Warden’s Service. This is open for any and all students at Dirigo Middle School. The wardens will be more than happy to field your questions.

· Pictures will be taken this morning; Students will be called down when the photographers are ready. Make sure that you ordered lunch this morning.

· Babe Ruth Baseball: There will be a Babe Ruth meeting tomorrow, May 5th immediately following the Dirigo High School Varsity game (approx 6:30) at Harlow Park to determine the number of kids interested in playing Dixfield Babe Ruth this year. If you cannot make it, you must notify Don St. Germain. In the event of rain we will meet at Dirigo Middle School at 6:00 pm. There is a sign up sheet on the sports bulletin board in the hallway.

· The DHS chapter of the National Honor Society with the DMS National Junior Honor Society will be holding a Cake Bingo fundraiser for Gabby Severence this Sunday, May 2 at the Dirigo SCC from 2:30-4:00pm. $5 for adults and $3 for students. Please come and help support this effort!

· As most of you probably know Dan Garneau from Mountain Valley High School passed away yesterday. During study hall we would like to have each homeroom make a card for his family.

· Baseball players are being dismissed at the First Bus bell not the 2:15 bell.

· Today our school will be hosting a Sandy Andy Math Meet here at Dirigo Middle School from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. This is something that our school used to do many years ago. Many of the math teachers in the Sandy Andy League have formed teams to participate in competitions. This Thursday is the final math meet of year and I am proud to say that our team has done well. If you know someone on the math team, wish them luck. If you may be interested in participating next year, drop in to see Mr. Robinson or send me an email.

· Attention 7th graders, Friday is the last day to bring your quarters in. You will be having a meeting tomorrow during study hall in the gym. You will all be called from homeroom.

· On Friday, April 9th there will be a performance at 6:30 at DES by “Two Show”. They are juggling brothers. We will be viewing a bit of their act next Friday at a school wide assembly.

· On Saturday, April 10th there will be a Kids Fest at the Rumford Eagles to benefit Area Youth Groups. There will be Karaoke, a spaghetti supper and movies.
